The study of various information-processing biases in generally anxious participants has mushroomed even more prolifically than in the case of panic. Again, in this section we endeavour to describe a few of the more innovative studies in the various domains of cognition, while referring the reader to more exhaustive sources for detailed reviews (Dalgleish & Watts, 1990; Eysenck, 1997; Heimberg, Turk, & Mennin, 2004; Williams et al., 1997). Most studies have used individuals meeting criteria for a diagnosis of GAD (APA, 1994).
