Cervical Spine

The cervical spine provides support and stability for the head. Articulation at the joints of the vertebrae allows for the range of motion of the head. The spine is also the route through which the nerve roots travel out from the spinal canal to the extremities. As with back pain, chronic neck pain or disorders related to limited function from neck problems are common reasons for office visits. A careful history and examination help elucidate the cause and the level and extent of compromise affecting cervical function.
