• Thoughts of death/suicidal ideation (SI)

• Disturbed sleep

• Change in appetite/weight

• Psychomotor changes

• Decreased energy

• Bodily aches and pain

• Impaired concentration

• Indecisiveness

Occasionally, severely depressed patients also will present with psychotic symptoms:

• Hallucinations

Some patients present with "atypical features" of depression:

• Reactive mood (i.e., mood improves in response to positive events)

• Significant increase in appetite/weight gain

• Hypersomnia

• Heavy feelings in arms or legs

• Sensitivity to interpersonal rejection
