Causes of Thyrotoxicosis Hyperthyroidism

Thyrotoxicosis is any syndrome caused by excess thyroid hormone. Hyperthyroidism is related to excess thyroid hormone secreted by the thyroid gland. Thyrotoxicosis can be related to the presence or absence of excess hormone production (hyperthyroid-ism). The common causes of thyrotoxicosis are shown in Table 44-6 '
