Obstetric Risk Assessment

Documentation of the medical history of the pregnant woman is similar to that of the nonpregnant woman. In addition, the interviewer must assess obstetric risk. The following major risk factors must be evaluated:

• Parity Height

• Pregnancy weight

Diabetes, hypertension, and renal disease

• Hemoglobinopathy and isoimmunization History of previous pregnancies

• Sexually transmitted infections

• Other infections

Tobacco, alcohol, and drug use
